LLU Actually gives money!!!!!!!!

So I was sitting in my chair around 7:18 p.m. when my cell phone rang with a 909 area code. I look at my phone puzzled, because I didn’t know anyone from that area code, but I was talking to my fiancée so I decided not to click over. I checked my voicemail and learned that the person calling was Dr. Nyirady from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine…he said that he had something important to tell me. So I called him back, and I get the bloody answering machine! “Freakin no”, I yell out loud, because I know that LLU is 2 hours behind Alabama, so they might have just left work. I say a quick prayer, and I call again and Mrs. Edwards picks up. She puts me on hold because Dr. Nyirady is on the other line. So now the bloody classical waiting music is playing and I’m twiddleing my thumbs, heart beating fast, and pacing in my room. Dr. Nyirady clicks over and makes some small talk with me. Almost in passing he mentions that the scholarship committee has just met and that I’ve been awarded a $27,750/year scholarship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy freakin cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all may not understand, but this is like an answer to prayer. I wasn’t praying for a scholarship, but with LLU deliberating on my fiancée I’ve started to loose faith that LLU is where the Lord is directing. This scholarship has renewed my faith that things are going to work out. LLU fully and completely knows that I’m coming as a couple, so would they offer the money without thinking that they will accept her too? I can’t answer that, but I know that I just have to wait, have patience, and pray….all of which are hard for me to do. So yeah, tuition is like $35,000/year, so a significant chunk was knocked off.In others news; I was talking with Mr. Mosely (the Admissions Director) at Meharry, trying to figure out how the dates were going to work for our wedding and starting school there. The Lord is amazing with His timing, because I had called Mr. Mosely. Anyway, he told me that he had actually forgotten about our special situation, but that didn’t matter because he was actually on his way to talk to the Dean of the medical school; the person who he would have had to talk to anyway about our situation! Furthermore, he also told me that within 10 days, the scholarship committee for Meharry is meeting and that I am on the top of the FREAKIN LIST!!!!!!!! All I can say the Lord is true to His word. In Psalm 84:11 it says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Now I’m not saying that I’m perfect…I am FAR FAR FAR from it, but I truly believe and am a living testimony that if you strive to be true to Him, He will withhold no good thing from you. Just test Him!
