Heyyyyyy! I’m so glad to have stumbled across your blog site. I have followed you since your Oakwood days of organic, when you were writing for the SDN “Diaries” site. Back then I was a high school student in Florida now I’m a post-bac in Philly- my how time moves! Congratulations on all your success.
My wife and I draw so much inspiration from both of you and at an opportune moment, we reflect at loud about your current challenges(and accomplishments) as a professional, husband and father to find just the right balance. We are a couple with a beautiful daughter and are searching for that balance on a tight rope.
I recently left a 4 year healthcare program (for another, perhaps higher or lower pay) and somehow, I was lacking a little motivation. So I came to your site (as if you weren’t depleted emotionally and physically already). That motivation lies more in the inner strength needed to persevere and for me
I draw inspiration more from individuals whose work ethics I might emulate; more so than the divine for which I know guides you and Dr. Carson, who will retire this year from neurosurgery practice (still can’t believe it).
I’m truly proud of both of you. The road is not easy right now, but the kids will be a little older and you will both enjoy your careers and looking back in awe at how you’ve done it.
