So yesterday I got to the hospital at 5 am and saw my patients. I then went to the OR at 7:45am and didn’t finish until. 7 pm. I drove home, studied for a bit on today’s cases and then fell asleep. I woke up again this morning at 4 am and got to the hospital at 5 am. Today I am on call and from what I have heard I won’t get much sleep overnight so I will probably do the full 30 hour shift. My wife is getting it worse at LLU. While I wake up at 4 am she is already at the hospital by 4 am. We aren’t seeing each other really at all which is kinda rough. So yeah we are well into the Surgery grind. My wife already hates it. Personally I am not happy with the lack of time I have with your ( less than any rotation thus far) but I am enjoying the OR.
Yesterday while I was in the OR I got called a pussy by the attending because I wasn’t retracting like he wanted. Fun stuff…fun stuff.
