So I think that somehow God heard that I didn’t feel that I was getting my full, hard, general surgery experience because last night on call I got 1 hour of sleep due to the insane amount of traumas that just kept pouring in. We had like 5 stabbings, a head on collision that brought in a couple of people that were near death, and bunch of consults on regular general surgery stuff like hernias, appys, acute choles, etc. After being awake for that long on my post call day, I started to feel that crankyness that I’ve have sometimes experienced from the residents when they are tired. I really want to learn how to not let my tiredness cause me to snap at my fellow residents or medical students. Anyways, I will keep my mouth shut for now on about how little I am doing because I don’t want another night like that.
