If there is anything more exciting than the field of ophthamology then it has to be watching paint dry, because I would have gladly spent the whole day with my eyes to the wall rather than be in ophtho clinic or surgery. Truly this was the most boring week of my life, and the worst part was that the attendings and residents really wanted me to get into it. In my mind I was like…”I’m going into ortho, I won’t even know what an eye is by the time I’m a PGY-5″, but that didn’t matter to them. The attendings though were incredibly nice as well as the residents, and they really seemed to love what they did, but it was just a terror to actually sit a watch 30 cataract surgeries.
But that week is over, praise God.
