Lately I’ve been thinking of changing my major to political science or business. A major where I can actually get sleep. A major that doesn’t require my all to get good grades.
The past two weeks have been mixed with blessings and stress. I have a 10 page term paper to write in U.S. History 2, about Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal, and its controversies. Now I’m alright in history, but when you are focusing on Genetics, Physics, and Organic Chemistry, you really don’t have time to write a term paper. It was actually supposed to be due this past Monday, but by the grace of God, the teacher moved the due date to next Monday, so I have a little time.
We had our Physics test this past Monday and it was a %*!*# to say the least. It was over rotational kinematics, torque, etc. I understood some of it, but most of the information, NOBODY UNDERSTOOD. And for some reason, all of the Physics tutors were sick over the weekend. Anyway, I prayed, and took the test, and I hope I at least got a C.
This past Monday we also had a Genetics test, which was simply a beast. We had 50 min. to do the test, and she had 32 multiple choice, and like 48 write in questions. I felt pretty good after I left the test (I had studied like for 9 hours the day before). Despite the studying, I know the Lord helped me out, because I ended up getting the highest grade on that test, which was an 89%. As you can guess, the majority of the scores were around 40-50%, which really sucks. We have a lot of chemistry majors that are taking this class, and I noticed that they do really well on the probability stuff, but when it comes to the visual, biological part of genetics, they often don’t do well. I could be making a wide generalization, but that’s what I noticed. Anyway, so I was pretty happy about my score, I wanted an A, but you have to take what you are given.
I’m counting down the days till spring break. We start ours on February 25, and come back March 6. My girlfriend’s parents don’t trust me driving 11 hours to Maryland, so they bought her a plane ticket, lol. I’m not really beaten up about it, I’ll make the drive myself.
I’m really really tired. I just want this semester to end so I can start studying for the MCATs and get done with that. Oakwood and Kaplan have a relationship, so anyone taking the Kaplan course on our campus gets a $500 discount on the course. Meaning I only have to pay $999 for the course, instead of $1,500. It’s still a lot of money, but the discount helps. Our last day of school is April 28, then we stay home for about a month, and then the Kaplan course starts around June 1st, and we stay there till the August MCAT is taken. The course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6-9 p.m. Meaning I have a BUTT LOAD of time to study on my own. That could either be really bad or really good. We’ll see.
Pray for me you’ll, this crap is getting tiring, and I want to quit. Regardless of how well I seem to be doing, I look at my friends who are business majors, and they get to go out every night. Meh, whatever, I’ll talk to yall later.
