Today has brought a mixture of feelings for me. As you all know, I was really worried about Organic in terms of me getting an A in that class. I hadn’t been doing so well this semester, and I was on the edge between a B and an A. I knew that on this upcoming test, I needed to do really well, in order to secure an A. So, I prayed, and studied, prayed, and studied, studied till 12 midnight, woke up at 4 a.m. this morning, prayed and studied some more. Going into the test today, I was really anxious, but I knew that somehow, the Lord was going to bring me out. When I went through the first page of the test in less than 5 minutes, I just knew that something must be wrong, but it wasn’t. The Lord was really bringing back everything I studied, and when I finished the test, I felt MARVELOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait for the results on Wednesday. I’d be happy for anything from a 78% and up. That would solidify my A.
Well, I came out of Organic test on a real high. I just couldn’t believe how good I felt, especially after an Organic test!!! The next class I went to was Physics, which was my 12 o’clock. I really didn’t want to stay because the guy really can’t teach, but I wanted the results for my test that we took on Friday, so I stayed. The general consensus on Friday was that no one really felt good about the Physics test, and I certainly agreed with them. I wanted at least a 70%, because I got 100%’s on the last 2 tests. When he plopped the test in front of me, my heart dropped, there in red was my grade, a 47% F. This was the lowest grade I’ve ever received on a test in my whole academic career (including kindergarten). I really began to get sad when I realized that this would definitely make it impossible to get an A in Physics, regardless of how good my last two test grades were. Overall, the class did pretty badly, and the last time that happened on a Physics test, Dr. Patel allowed us to take a similar test to make up some points. That was the first time he ever did that, and probably the last, but it was worth a try to ask. So after class, I asked him whether he would give us an extra credit test again, and he promptly rejected the idea.
I went to his office later today to talk to him about my grade. He tallied my current quiz, test, and homework scores, our lab grade wasn’t in yet, but he geusstimated that it would be about a 95%. With all my numbers in, I had an A-. He started adding in fake grades for my final test to see what I would have to get in order to get an A in his class. I started to get really discouraged when he entered in a 96% for the final test and my overall grade was still an A-. I asked him again whether he could possibly allow us to get an extra credit test, because it really wasn’t fair. My girlfriend scored a 39% on the test that he allowed us to take an extra credit test, and she brought her score up to a 69%. Now I have a 47%, and I’m stuck with it. He said that he’ll ponder the notion of giving us an opportunity to gain more points, but it wasn’t a definite thing. I left his office in despair. I had been praising the Lord’s name for how much He had blessed on my Organic test, and then I get this horrible news about my Physics test.
As I was driving back to my off-campus house, I was listening to a song that really slapped me back into reality. I was blaming God, asking Him how could He let me do so well on my Organic test, then let me fail my Physics test. But this song, reminded me that that if God does nothing else for me, just that fact that He died for me is enough. If God never helped me on another test, I have no right to curse His name; He really has already done more than enough. Everything else He does is just extra. Here are the words:
If You never kept me safe at night
If You never showed me wrong from right
I would still love You, I would still love You
If Your angels never showed they cared
If You never stopped to answer prayers
I would still serve You, I would still serve You
Even if I had no voice to sing, or legs to walk, You’d still be worthy of my praise
Cause You gave your life, and that’s enough for me
If He never did the things He does
If He never blessed me just because
I would still follow Him, I would still follow Him
If He left us soul-less wanderers
And He never sent the comforter
I still would love Him, I would still love Him
For the simple fact He’s given me another chance, He’s still worthy of my praise
Cause He gave His life, and that’s enough for me
And because You said Your coming back to take me home, You are worthy of my praise
Because You gave your life, and that’s enough for me
Lets remember, that we can’t only praise God when things are going right. We need to praise Him when things suck too. No matter what you are going through, it will only last for a short time. I’m going to pray about my Physics test, but even if He doesn’t allow me to receive an A, I’m keeping my trust in Him. He’s brought all of us this far, He won’t let us go now. For all those nearing the close of their semester, take heart; it’ll all work out in the end.
Anyway, I wasn’t planning on posting today, but I wanted you’ll to know how I was feeling at this moment. I’ll talk to yall later.
