Well, it looks to me like I’m probably not going to get my Kaplan Higher Score Guarantee. Kaplan has a higher score guarantee, where if you attend all your classes, do all your homework, and take all the tests, and still aren’t satisfied with your MCAT score, they will let you take the course again for free, or refund the money you paid for it. At this point, I’m almost sure that I will not WASTE MY TIME attending the classes. First of all, they are 3 hours. More importantly, those 3 hours are taught by people who are probably inept at teaching even 3rd grade biology, chemistry, or physics. Our first class was just an introduction to the strategies needed to take the test, and although it was obvious that she didn’t know what she was talking about, and was just reading out of the Kaplan book, we tolerated her, cause it had nothing to do with science. Our second class was Physics, and my goodness, after almost 2 hours, I had not learned ANYTHING. Our teacher was in a wheelchair, and so I felt bad about getting up and leaving, so I stayed, but most of the people in the class did. I missed yesterday’s General Chemistry class because I was at my sister’s graduation (which went well by the way), and I was a little worried that I missed a class that could have really helped me, cause PS was my weakest section. Well, I talked to my friends who took that session and they said that the teacher was worst than the Physics teacher. They said it was obvious that she didn’t even know how to teach science, much less General Chemistry. She couldn’t pronounce nucleus or fluorine, and just overall didn’t know what she was talking about. As bad as the Physics teacher was, for my friends to adamantly state that she was worse than the Physics teacher was really saying something. So, I have just about chosen not to go to the classes anymore. The online material is an exact duplicate of what we get in class, so I should be alright.
On to better news….I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So yeah, I’m a waiter at Bennigans. It’s a pretty laid back restaurant, where I can hopefully make some good money in tips. Other than that, nothing else interesting is happening. I fly back into Huntsville tomorrow to continue my studying for the MCAT, so wish me luck!
