Well, I was too anxious to wait for Kaplan to send my scores back, so (since I always circle my answers on the test booklet), I just plugged those answers in our online Kaplan accounts, and it graded it for me. And the score is…………………..DRUM ROLL PLEASE, lol……………….: PS: 8, VR: 8, BS: 9 = 25 Although it may be low by most people’s standards, I’m pretty happy. On my diagnostic, I got a 19, so for me to raise 6 points off the first test, I feel alright. I’m sure that for me to rise another 6 points to a 31 is exponentially harder, but at least its closer. Now I must admit that this might not be 100% accurate. For the PS section, when I took my test, I didn’t finish the last 2 passages and the last discreet questions. This means that I never marked them down in my test booklet, but I just fill them in on the answer sheet. So when I was putting my answers in online, and didn’t have the answers for the ones I guessed on, I just randomly put in letters. So it is possible that my random entering online was more accurate than my random bubbling on my practice MCAT answer sheet. I’m sure the scores aren’t going to differ by too much, but its possible that when Kaplan sends my actual scores back, I could have either a 24, 25, or 26 (if I was more lucky filling in on the real thing). One thing I noticed is that the curve on the PS section is tremendous. I got 70% right on the VR section, and got an 8, and I got like 47% right on the PS section, and got an 8. That’s kind of encouraging. Anyway, I feel good, but demoralized at the same time, because I’m studying for Physics. There are very few times where I just plain don’t get something, and this is it. I’m reading these chapters over and over, and doing the workshops, and I’m just not comprehending the concepts (magnetism, thermodynamics, SHM, etc.). Part of me just wants to wing the PS section, since I feel I won’t get it anyway, and ace the VS and BS sections, but my readers have warned that that isn’t smart. I don’t know, its just really annoying. Why should they make the part of the MCAT which conceptually is the most USELESS part of medical school, the hardest section on the MCAT? It doesn’t seem fair to me.
