Getting my Step I score and then talking to my fellow classmates reminded me about an important concept called CONTENTMENT. I mean when I saw my score I was absolutely ecstatic, just jumping off the walls because it was much higher than I thought it would be…I just knew I had been blessed by God. But as I talked to my friends who had gotten 254s and 268 my score started to lose it luster…which is stupid. You have to remember that someone will always score higher than you; being happy with what you have been given is an important principle that should carry into every aspect of your life. The book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible says, “Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” There will always be something better or something more but once we become content with what God has blessed US with we won’t worry about others. So trust me I am still happy with my score and when I hear how some of my friends did tremendously better I am truly happy for them and excited for THEM. Okay, I can’t think of anything else to write but I just wanted to throw that out there.
