Hey everyone!!! The school year is winding down and I’m excited because then its application time!!! I’ve already received one LOR into my Interfolio account, so just two more to go! I know I’ve been going back and forth between what schools are on my list, but this list is truly my last list. There is this really tight thread in the Pre-Allo forum. Upon reading all the posts in that thread I gained more confidence in my ability to possibly get into Georgetown, so instead of replacing Georgetown with Meherry, I’m just going to apply to both of them. So that makes 11 schools! Dr. Tran wrote me an e-mail with some truly compelling points as to why I should apply to Penn State, and they mainly convinced me, but they didn’t convinced Brittany too much. And also, another thing that stopped us from putting Penn State on the list was their required research thesis. There truly aren’t words yet created in English to describe our dislike for research, and even though we could just knock it would during our only free summer, I would rather do mission work during that summer. Anyway, I liked Penn State, but me and the misses didn’t come to an agreement on it. Anyway, what you see below is the chart that I made, that will be tracking my whole application process. I will be posting it every time something new comes up. I truly love my parents. Since I won’t be getting my check until after I want to submit my AMCAS application, my mom said that her and my dad would pay the AMCAS fees, as long as I take care of the secondary fees. I was very happy to hear this, because it takes a lot of the bite off of my research stipend. So yeah, check out the table below:
I talked to the lady at Hopkins, and she told me that housing would cost around $1,483 for the summer. I just had to laugh at that..because there is no way I’m spending that much to stay on campus when I could just spend about $400 in gas to commute. I also just talked to my dad, who graduated from Maryland’s school of Social Work, which is right beside the medical school. He told me that the commute isn’t actually that bad either, because everyone is actually going the opposite direction into D.C. So if I a lot around $50/week for gas, for the whole summer it’ll come out to about $400. Anyway, I don’t have much more to say….so au revoir. |
